Fractionated Laser Technology
The Non-Ablative Fractionated Laser (NAFL) is a laser treatment method that delivers energy in the form of tiny, almost invisible micro-fractions into the skin. This process has several beneficial effects, including clearing superficial skin pigmentation, stimulating collagen production, smoothing the skin and fine lines, and enhancing overall skin texture while also addressing acne, surgical, or trauma-related scars.
Key Information
How long will it last?
In suitable patients, both wavelengths can be utilised in a single session to achieve a comprehensive rejuvenation treatment that addresses both superficial and deep skin concerns.
How long does the treatment take?
The downtime associated with this treatment typically involves a few days of redness and swelling, followed by approximately two weeks of dry skin flaking.
How Does Non-Ablative Fractionated Laser (NAFL) Work?
The 1940nm wavelength used in this treatment is particularly effective in targeting superficial pigmentation, rejuvenating the skin surface, and reducing wrinkles. It is commonly referred to as the "Frax" treatment because it acts as an "eraser" for skin imperfections. On the other hand, the 1550nm wavelength specifically targets the deeper layers of the dermis to stimulate collagen production and reduce acne and traumatic scarring.
In suitable patients, both wavelengths can be utilised in a single session to achieve a comprehensive rejuvenation treatment that addresses both superficial and deep skin concerns.
