Balanced Harmonised Restored

Facial Contour

Face and Jaw Slimming

  • Facial slimming aims to achieve a more aesthetically pleasing ‘V’ shaped contour in females by reducing the appearance of width.
  • This is accomplished through simple, pain-free muscle relaxing injections targeting the powerful masseter muscles in the cheeks.
  • Results from the injections are visible within 4 weeks and reach maximal effect by 6-8 weeks.
  • The treatment can be combined with skin tightening procedures to further reduce skin laxity and enhance the overall contouring effect.
  • Additionally, these injections can help treat TMJ pain by relaxing the overactive masseter muscles, reducing muscle tension, and alleviating associated discomfort.

Lip volumising treatment

  • Achieving naturally attractive lips depends on their definition, volume, and the balance between the upper and lower lips.
  • Beautiful lips are characterised by a harmonious appearance that blends seamlessly with the rest of the face, rather than dominating it.
  • For a natural outcome, lips should not be the standout feature of the face.
  • The best results are achieved by balancing contour, volume, and lip proportions.

Tear trough treatment

  • Hollows, dark eye bags and circles, puffiness, and wrinkles may make you appear tired and worn out, even when you feel your best.
  • Volumisers can reduce dark circles, wrinkles, and shadows around the eye area
  • Combining Rejuran, Exosome, PRP treatments can enhance results.

Understanding Facial Volume Loss

  • Facial volume loss is a natural aging process, leading to a sunken appearance in cheeks, temples, and jawline.
  • Collagen production decreases over time, resulting in reduced skin elasticity, wrinkles, and roughness.

Collagen is crucial for skin health, and its decreased production leads to signs of aging, including facial volume loss and hollow areas, which contribute to an aged appearance.

Restoring Facial Volume

This treatment provides immediate volume and continues to work over time by stimulating your body’s natural collagen production. This leads to natural-looking improvements in your facial volume and shape. The procedure is done with precision, and multiple sessions might be recommended for the best results. As collagen production increases, you’ll notice more improvements.

Before starting this treatment, book a consultation with a qualified healthcare professional. They will examine your face, discuss your goals, and create a personalised treatment plan for you.

  • Mild swelling, redness, and tenderness may occur, subsiding within two to seven days.
  • Gradual results become noticeable over weeks to months, with multiple sessions recommended for optimal outcomes.
  • Possible side effects include temporary swelling, bruising, discomfort, granulomas, and rare allergic reactions.
  • Choosing a qualified practitioner minimizes risks. Discuss any concerns with your practitioner before treatment. Seek medical attention for unusual symptoms.

The results can last up to two years depending on the individual as well as extrinsic factors. Results can be maintained with yearly treatments.

Double Chin Treatments

HIFU Ultraformer (6mm Cartridge)

Best for: Skin laxity and reducing fat

Mechanism:

  • High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU): The Ultraformer device uses HIFU to deliver focused ultrasound energy to deeper layers of the skin and fat.
  • Collagen Production: The ultrasound energy heats the tissue, which promotes collagen production, leading to skin tightening.
  • Fat Reduction: The thermal effect of the ultrasound also helps to reduce fat cells in the targeted area, which are then naturally processed and eliminated by the body.

Down time: 0-2 days

Comments:

  • Thicker Skin: Particularly effective for patients with thicker skin due to its deeper penetration.
  • Non-Invasive: Provides a non-invasive option for fat reduction and skin tightening without the need for surgery.
  • Immediate Results: Some patients may see immediate skin tightening effects, with continued improvement over several weeks as collagen rebuilds.

Deoxycholic Acid Injections

Best for: Focal fat pockets

Mechanism:

  • Deoxycholic Acid: This is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that helps to break down and absorb dietary fat.
  • Fat Breakdown: When injected into the submental area (under the chin), deoxycholic acid destroys fat cells, which are then metabolised and eliminated by the body.

Down time: 2 weeks

Comments:

  • Multiple Sessions: Typically requires multiple treatment sessions spaced several weeks apart to achieve optimal results.
  • Longer Downtime: Patients may experience swelling, bruising, and discomfort for several weeks post-injection.
  • Cost Consideration: Though effective, deoxycholic acid injections may be more costly due to the need for multiple treatments and the associated downtime.
  • Specific Targeting: Ideal for patients with well-defined fat pockets rather than generalised skin laxity.

Key Information

Saggy skin can be caused by a combination of factors, including natural aging, genetics, and lifestyle choices. The loss of collagen and elastin in the skin, as well as decreased muscle tone, can contribute to the appearance of sagging. Factors such as sun exposure, smoking, and poor nutrition can also accelerate the process of sagging skin.

Dermal fillers are injected directly into the skin using a fine needle or cannula. The treatment is typically quick and relatively painless.

Dermal fillers are generally considered safe when administered by a qualified and experienced cosmetic doctor. However, as with any medical treatment, there are potential risks and side effects.

The risks of dermal filler include the possibility of infection, allergic reactions, bruising, swelling, lumps or bumps under the skin, skin discolouration, nerve damage, and migration of the filler material. While these risks are relatively rare, you should be aware of them and discuss them with Dr Tina before undergoing treatment.

One rare but serious complication associated with dermal fillers is vascular occlusion, which can potentially cause blindness. This occurs when filler material is injected into a blood vessel or artery, blocking the flow of blood to the surrounding tissues. This can cause tissue damage, skin necrosis, or in rare cases, permanent vision loss.

To minimise the risk of complications, you should choose a qualified and experienced practitioner who is trained to recognise the signs and symptoms of vascular occlusion and has the necessary skills and equipment to immediately treat this complication if it occurs.

If you are considering dermal filler treatment, it is important to carefully weigh the risks and benefits with your practitioner before proceeding. By taking the necessary precautions and working with a skilled practitioner, you can minimise the risks and achieve the best possible results from your treatment.

The duration of dermal filler effects can vary depending on the type of filler used, the area treated, and individual factors such as metabolism and lifestyle habits. In general, most dermal fillers will last between 6-18 months before being gradually metabolised by the body and needing to be re-injected to maintain the desired effects.

Some of the factors that can affect the longevity of dermal fillers include the thickness and viscosity of the filler material, the depth of injection, the amount of filler used, and the location of the treatment area. For example, areas of the face that are more mobile, such as the lips and nasolabial folds, may require more frequent touch-ups than areas that are less mobile, such as the cheeks or chin.

It is important to note that while dermal fillers can provide long-lasting results, they are not permanent and will eventually need to be re-injected to maintain the desired effect. The exact duration of the results will vary from person to person and may require a personalised treatment plan to achieve optimal results.

  • Schedule a consultation with Dr Tina to discuss your concerns, goals, and any medical history that may affect the treatment. This will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions and understand the risks and benefits of the treatment.
  • Avoid blood-thinning medications such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, and fish oil for at least a week prior to treatment.
  • Before getting dermal filler treatment, it is important to plan for some downtime as there is a possibility of experiencing swelling, bruising, and redness at the injection site. Although most patients can resume their normal activities immediately after treatment, it is advisable to avoid any strenuous exercise or activities for at least 24 hours after the procedure. By doing so, you can ensure proper healing and minimise the risk of any complications.

It is not uncommon to experience some lumps and tenderness after a dermal filler treatment, particularly in the first few days. This is usually due to swelling and inflammation at the injection site. However, these symptoms should gradually improve over time, typically within a week or two. If you experience excessive or prolonged swelling, pain, or lumps, it is important to contact Dr Tina to rule out any potential complications.

  • Avoid Blood Thinning Medications - Certain medications such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, and blood thinners can increase the risk of bruising. It is recommended to avoid these medications for at least 24-48 hours before and after the treatment.
  • Use Cold Compresses - Applying a cold compress to the injection site can help reduce swelling and bruising. You can use icy pops or a cold pack wrapped in a towel for 10-15 minutes at a time, several times a day.
  • Avoid Alcohol - Alcohol can thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising. It is best to avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before and after the treatment.
  • Consider Arnica Supplements - Arnica is a natural supplement that has anti-inflammatory properties and can help reduce bruising. You can start taking arnica supplements a few days before the treatment and continue for a few days after.

It is important to note that some degree of bruising is common after dermal filler treatment and usually resolves within a week or two. If you experience excessive or prolonged bruising, or if you have any concerns, you should contact Dr Tina immediately.
